For I know the plans I have for you, declares the Lord, plans for welfare and not for evil, to give you a future and a hope.

Happy Saturday Friends,

What a beautiful day it is outside...I hope wherever this finds you…you are enjoying the same sunshine. Last week I talked with you about the distractions Satan puts in our way to draw us away from God. We talked about the boob-tube (why did they use to call it that? lol) and its ability to take our time and attention...but I think we would all agree that life's greatest distraction (around the world) is the one that most of you are holding in your hand right now. I truly believe it is probably the most distracting thing in our lives thus far. Just today as I was preparing to write this devotional, I know I was distracted by my cell phone atleast 5 times. It's so easy....it's the whole world at our finger tips. We can visit with so many people at the same time (or at least see what's going on in their lives). We search for and buy any product we need or want in a matter of seconds. If you have a question...about ANYTHING...you can have the answer in seconds. You can listen to any song, watch any movie, learn recipes, enrich your talents, meet new friends, and watch just how crazy the world has become by the actions of the things people record and post. To say the least….this thing in your hand or beside your computer (it’s never far away) is entertaining and an absolute necessity in most of our lives…a wonderful creation that I think most of us are thankful for...but the down side of this amazing piece of technology is that it separates us. The very thing that draws us closer to those we are far away from also distracts us from those around us and most importantly God. You start reading your devotional and all of a sudden the screen lights up on your cell phone…you start to pray about all those things you need to bring to God and you feel the vibration of a text message. You keep saying you’re going to go spend some time with God…but every time…

Am I alone here or is this your life as well??? We all have good intentions but you know the old saying (“The highway to Hell is paved with good intentions.”) I know that may seem a bit harsh here but in reality it’s not. Lives are lost because we neglect to spend more time with God. Our closer walk with God is the key to so many others knowing Him…but even if it’s only one….that one life is worth our time. Jesus left the 99 to find the 1 that was lost. More time with God enriches our lives in such a way that it can change the world….and we definitely have a world that needs changing…and it starts with me and you.

“You did not choose me, but I chose you and appointed you so that you might go and bear fruit—fruit that will last—and so that whatever you ask in my name the Father will give you."

John 15:16

He chose you for this time…to make a difference…in whatever way you feel that you are being called. Sometimes that is a big thing and sometimes it’s small. However, little is much if God is in it. You are important; You are loved & always remember… You are not alone.

On this very special weekend, remember all that He has done for you. Happy Easter to each of you.

from my heart to yours,
